A simple idea, rooted in kindness.
Leaves of Love began with a belief that small gestures can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.
For founder, Debbie Cope, the idea came at a time when she was beginning to step away from a successful career in real estate and thinking about how she wanted to spend the next chapter of her life. The answer was simple: doing something good for others.
She also understood that connection isn’t always something people know how to ask for. Sometimes it helps to have a reason to show up — and a plant can be that reason.
Leaves of Love brings living plants into senior care communities, then comes back to care for them. What begins with a little greenery creates an easy, natural opportunity to return, say hello and spend some time together.
Plants to enjoy. Connections that grow.
Leaves of Love enhances the well-being of senior care residents through the gift of living plants and regular volunteer companionship, combining the restorative presence of nature with meaningful human connection to reduce loneliness, encourage joy and enrich daily life.
OUR VISION
A world where no senior care resident feels forgotten, and every resident can experience the benefits of living with plants, the comfort of companionship and the dignity of being valued.
What Guides Us
-
Every person deserves to be treated with respect, kindness and genuine care.
-
Connection should never feel like an obligation. We meet people where they are and respect each resident’s choice to participate, talk or simply enjoy their plant.
-
Living plants bring beauty, comfort and a little bit of the outdoors into the places people call home.
-
Plants may open the door, but people are at the heart of Leaves of Love. Regular visits create opportunities for familiar faces, conversation and meaningful connection.
Our Story
Leaves of Love is the passion project of Debbie and Collin Cope, created from a shared desire to use this chapter of their lives to give something meaningful back to their community.
After a successful career in Knoxville real estate, Debbie is now semi-retired and able to devote more of her time to an idea that has been close to her heart: finding a simple, thoughtful way to show up for people who could use a little extra kindness and connection.
Together, Debbie and Collin are helping turn that idea into something tangible — one plant, one visit and one relationship at a time.
